PM Happy with Ministers' Handling of Flood Crisis

Although a recent survey shows that most flood victims are disappointed with the government's response to the flood crisis, the premier has commended her ministers on their flood relief efforts.

Prime Minister's Office Minister Surawit Khonsombun said after the Cabinet's meeting today Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has commended Cabinet ministers for their efforts to resolve the nationwide flood crisis.

Surawit said the current inundation is expected to recede in 30 days and related agencies will then come up with rehabilitation measures.

The minister stated the government may use tax measures to help flood-hit business operators.

A survey by Assumption University showed respondents in the ravaged areas gave the government only 4.6 out of 10 for their response to the flood crisis.

Meanwhile, Democrat Party members discussed the flood crisis during the party's meeting today.

The meeting instructed its Democrat members who are Bangkok district representatives and councilors to be prepared to help their constituents who've possibly been affected.

At the same time, Democrat spokesman Chawanont Intharakomalsut said the government's handling of flood problems is not systematic and lacks determination to address the crisis.

Chawanont stated the government's relief efforts have reached only 22.8 percent of flood-affected families, a stark contrast to the government's claim that 70 or 80 percent of flood victims have already received the assistance.

He urged the government to provide thorough and fair aid for all victims.

Chawanont commented state agencies in the ravaged areas should not be left to make decision on how to manage the flood crisis on their own.

Conflicts have emerged among people who have been affected by the seemingly unfair flood management decisions.

Further evidence of the government's disconnect from reality as mentioned yesterday

However the premier’s last video conference session with the permanent secretary of Interior, the Royal Irrigation Department director-general and the provincial governors of Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Roi-et and Yasothorn has shown that the government has lost touch with reality.

This is the only river that the P.T.P. (Personal Thaksin Property) care about the flood surge of money back to Brother No.1, his family and their little brown nosed acolytes.

Yes, a medal to the Science Ministry for coming up with the boat idea.

She is happy with the way that flood crisis is handled.

Why not ask to the most concerned by this situation in front of tv cameras ? Maybe they would have a different opinion, and their comments would not be that...happy.

She's not in Thailand today to ask her constituents about the flooding situation.

Shows how she cares for the ordinary Thai in the country in the flood hit areas

If the flood victims ate food shown in the picture below those flood victims would indeed regard that as ," A Gala Diinner."

Thai prime minister Yingluck asked the Zen master:

“My ministers have done an excellent job

With the floods

I do not understand why flood victims

Are disappointed with the government’s response”

The Zen master replied:

“Victims are always disappointed

Change your name from Yingluck to Badluck

That will help”

Good to know that some one is pleased with their efforts!

She is happy with the way that flood crisis is handled.

A strange comment, and not appropriate, positive results on matters of disaster like the recent flooding's should be referred to as, ... satisfied, or well done, and not stated to be happy.
