Hotel robbery in Central Pattaya mars Asian couple’s first day

PATTAYA: -- A South Korean male, aged 37, and a 26-year-old Chinese female spent part of their first night in Pattaya at Pattaya police station claiming to have been robbed of a substantial sum of Japanese yen from their hotel room. The couple said they were staying on the 15th floor of the Town-in-Town Hotel in central Pattaya and were part of an organised tour group. They had gone out during the day and when they returned to their room in the early hours of the evening they began unpacking their bags. They then realized a sum of 200,000 yen in cash, the equivalent of 80,000 baht, was missing. They later told police they were a bit confused as the room and their bags did not appear to have been disturbed.
