Pattaya DSI arrest man accused of sabotaging power cables at Larn Island

PATTAYA: -- A man who has caused over 30 Million Baht’s worth of damage to power cables on Larn Island has been arrested by the Department of Special Investigations (DSI), Eastern Branch. In an operation held in association with Pattaya Police and Pattaya City Hall, an arrest warrant was issued for Khun Prayong aged 49 who was accused of sabotaging power cables and setting them on-fire to cause disruption to the Island’s supply. His reasoning behind his actions date-back to a time when the electricity was provided by individuals on the Island who would work full-time to ensure that generators were maintained. Because of the new supply direct from Pattaya, some lost their jobs and were angry with the authorities.
