bangkok blue Posted October 7, 2011 Share Posted October 7, 2011 I know these will vary in some places.... But, I need to do a tourist visa between Xmas and New Year. Xmas day is Sunday 25th, I assume all embassies will shut on 26th (substitution day)... Will they also have a substitution day for boxing day? Does anyone have an idea as to when they may reopen? I'm hoping I should be good to apply on 28th, 29th, 30th.... Anyone had any recent experience with the Kunming embassy too? This is the one I want to apply to for these dates. saengsureeya Posted October 8, 2011 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Usually, a Thai Consulate is closed during important Thai Holidays AND important local Holidays. China doesn't seem to 'celebrate' XMas so the consulate in Kunming should be open. Thailand celebrates New Year's eve with holidays on 31-12 and 1-1.
