Forecast In 10 Days?

Hi, does anyone have news of whether the rain/flooding in central and north Thailand is forecast to continue? Have some friends who are planning to arrive in CM from BKK on 17th Oct, think they had planned to arrive by train. Would it be advisable for them to book flights now instead? I am in the UK at the moment, so would like to hear from local people who are actually there right now

How is the flooding/rain situation in CM at the moment? And what is the forecast? Thanks

The problem now is not so much Chiang Mai but Ayyuthaha, which is completely flooded and the weather forecast predict more rain on the way. This impacts on both the supension of the train service and also buses. Although various reports suggest that they buses are taking an alternative route.

To book a flight would be prudent. This I have done for my wife who is due to return home from Bangkok and there is still space on Air Asia and Thai Airways with different promotional deals and surprisingly still seats available.

Good luck
