Hi im applying for a tourist visa soon,i live near London so i guess i would be better going into the Thai embassey or consulate in London rather than the Hull consulate ? or is there some reason i should travel to the Hull one ? Thanks.

Why not download from Hull and use the mail service? That is what most people do. But if you only want a single entry suspect it could be obtained in London without much trouble.

Yes London is, as are most Embassy located Consulates, harder than at a facility geared toward visa issue, as is an Honorary Consulate.
