Craig2024
Until recently, my visa extensions were based on support of a Thai national. However, last month my wife died. We have a 3 year old child who is both Thai and American. I take care of him completely. Next month I am due to go to Phitsanulok Immigration for my annual visa extension. Obviously, I will not receive an extension based on support of my wife. I am aware that my status can be changed to retirement. I am eligible acording to Thai Immigration rules. However, there may be some job opportunities for me in the near future. I know that I cannot legally work under retirement status. I would like to know what other options are avaiable to me. Any sugestions will be appreciated.
InterestedObserver
Condolences on your loss. Apply for an extension of stay based on supporting your Thai child.
Mario2008
The child extension has the same rules regarding income etc. When you go to immigration you will have to take the child with you. Best is to call them in advance to check what documents they will want to see. Most will be the same as for based on a Thai wife.
