October 13, 201114 yr Better safe than sorry and a few hotels are preparing for the worst in down town Bangkok.
October 13, 201114 yr these days can't trust either You're saying there's a difference? Here I was thinking this govt was God.
October 14, 201114 yr Im ready..I HOPE..Outside kitchen bricked up..I wouldn't get a job as a brickee even here would I! All our doors are sealed, vertical pipes put on downstairs internal drains etc etc..knowing the builder though the water will probably come up through the floor! I have also 'borrowed' the pump from the fish pond across the road (had to put a plug on with an earth though!), OK if the power doesn't get cut off. Think I'll have a little work on repairing after I knock down the walls.

You obviously went to a lot of work, and I wonder if a coat of waterproofing on the exterior joints of your superb work, might help. I'd expect the joints to leak. Have you moved some of the valuable and delicate furnishings to the upper floors? As soon as the water gets on carpets or fabric, they are finished. Even some of the hevvier appliances might be saved if elevated. just a thought, seeing how you have gone to the effort to protect yourself. Don't forget to turn off the electricity and gas when the water comes.. The last thing you need is to be electrocuted or to have a fire. You might want to consider showing the missus. I thought someone here knew what a fuse box was and when I told her to pull the breaker, I got an ah, ah, I'm scared to touch response. Best of luck and I hope you are spared.
