Bean Weevils

Featured Replies

And still weevils.

I have a great new source of dried red kidney beans (any hillstribe market) and decided to soak the last of a bag I bought a couple of months ago.

When I poured boiling water onto them half a dozen weevils floated to the top along with some "debris".

I've given them several reruns with the boiling water and wondered if they would be ok to eat?

Nothing poisonous about a bit of weevil shit and assorted larvae is there?

I'm sure I've eaten worse. B)
