Emergency Travel Certificate

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Just a quick question, hope this is the correct section.

I lost my passport and have applied for an Emergency Travel Certificate which allows me to travel back home one time only. I was just wondering as its going to take a few days for me to get to Bangkok as im in Phi Phi and a few days to process it, by the time its all done I will have an overstay. I was just wondering would I have to pay an overstay? cause this is a different document on which i came into the country will there be a record, I have done a few bounces aswell so will it go on when I have entered the country or will they have a record of my bounces?

Any help would be very grateful

Changed font format to default for easier reading.

Yes, you will have to pay the fine for your overstay.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

The emeregency document probably states your old passport number it replaces.

You will also have to file a police report about losing your passport and after having your emergency document notify immigration of the missing passport so they can get all paperwork in order, including your missing TM-card.
