Hi

I am going to Penang to apply for a 3 month single entry Non Immigrant O Visa. Im married to a Thai.

Do I need to show Bank Certification of money in the bank or is a copy of bank book pages enough.

Thanks in advance

As far as I'm aware no need to show money for a single, only when you want a multiple non-O in Kuala Lumpur do you need to show at least 100,000 THB in a bank account. Savanakhet, Laos, will even issue a multiple without showing money.

Hi,

Im getting married to my Thai boyfriend in Jan next year. I also plan to get a non imm o after we are married. As a woman, do I need to show any money in my account to get multiple entry? Also, where is the best place to go to get it, Penang or Kuala Lumpur?

Thanks

There is no special category for female for visas. But once married you can easily obtain one year extensions of stay without financial proof on your part so no need for more than a single entry visa (and you can do that at an immigration office in the extension of stay process once married).

When married to a Thai a single entry nn-O will be enough. As a woman married to a Thai husband you don't need to show any income to get an extension of stay, just proof that you are married and your marriage is real and you live together will get you an extension for 1 year every year.

If you really want a multiple non-O, there are two options in surrunding countries:

1. Savanakhet in Laos

2. Kuala Lumpur, and hereyou need to show 100,000 in a Thai bank account (but not sure that also goes for a woman).

Congratulations on the marriage. I hope you will have a nice day and bright future together.

Is this only applicable to married to Thai or can anyone get one?

eg. married to another foreigner who is on a dependent visa linked to a child in school.

eg. single guy?

^Thanks

I was hoping that the visa "for visiting family' might apply to other nationalities not just Thai family.

A multiple non-O can be issued for visiting famly, but I'm not aware of it being done in Asia. Hull is a good example of a consuate that does give non-O's based on visiting family, if you can proof the family relationship.
