The newsroom is reporting that there are parts of Bangkok that are totally empty of any citizens, there are no people to be seen for miles around.... They have said that it is not a result of recent floods, but because a new Krusty Kreme's Doughnut shop has opened.... Well I thought it was funny anyway :)

Yes and with all the problems with the flooding, I think Thai people would think it funny too, even in times of trouble the Thai people being interviewed on TV with their houses under water they are still smiling bless them.

They have my most greatest respect.

Yes Kwasaki my sentiments too, but isn't that Krispy Kreme or is there some other donut shop I don't know about that has the same popularity? :P

Well. although I try to kept to my trim 85Kilos :whistling: my Mrs bless her always thinks she thinks for me which is some what anoying at times but I'm a bit of an old soft soap, so the donuts from Mr Donut come at 10 in a box, old well instead of 10 reps is up to 15 the next day on my multigym.

Yeah baked goods for me are literally like an allergic reaction, I feel myself literally bloating and swelling after eating it but it's so hard to avoid the magnitude of donut kiosks around the b'stards. I'm pretty sure it is a type of allergy to the yeast currently I'm on a self imposed no baked goods order and I know full well what you mean about helpful wives though mine understands now, it's so hard... My kids are so good about things like that they never whine or beg about it which makes it that much harder to pass it by as you'd like to give them a treat now and again but no personal will power if I get for them only I'd snatch it out of their hands :( big meany that I am :whistling: .. But they're getting good lessons in self control and moderation as they're growing understanding the limits and are as I said, very good about it, makes me proud..

Your condition actually sounds exactly the same as my friend's. It is a 'gluten intolerance'. Which is why you see so many 'gluten free' products in supermarkets there now.

Mostly get it from products that use white flour, or especially 'strong' white flour.

That could very well be, I tolerate whole wheat and other similar types of grain baked goods with little problem and no such weight gain and we use those exclusively where bread is concerned.. I know it's not my imagination..

It's like someone with a peanut or shell fish allergy only not life threatening but the same almost immediate type of reaction and it' snot with noticeable outward effects it's more an internal feeling and the results are an immediate weight gain of 2 to 2.5 pounds unlike anything else...

Yes, well all those wonderful days with my kids have gone by now, mine are all grown up and I never minded them having what they wanted and long as they understood that whatever they needed like everything learnt in life, things had to be kept in moderation.

Actually I made myself sound like an old curmudgeon that never gives them any treats and it's not quite like that at all. But like you say and I always have said too, moderation in EVERYTHING is the key..
