I am running Windows 7 home premium 64. And before when I closethe lid, the computer would go t sleep and when open it would resume which ispretty quick to turn on.

For some reason now it will restart instead of Windows resume.

Any help appreciated

check this first, if the setting changed :

1) goto Control Panel

2) click System and Security

3) click Power Options

4) menu on left, click Choose what closing the lid does

5) check the setting on the 3rd item - when I close the lid :

hmm . . . there is no selection on restart. then change setting to any other one. restart the computer and check the closing lid again.
