Visa for what country from what city? This is about visa for Thailand so not sure if that is what you are asking or not. It is also helpful to know what passport you carry.

Suggest you go to the Southeast Asia forum where there is a pinned thread on Mynamar viss. Not sure if the Visa on Arrival scheme has been reintroduced but the thread should be able to tell you.

And what permission to stay do you have for Thailand is also important. As maybe if you had a Non Immigrant extension you would

require a Re-entry permit

I got my Myanmar visa at the Myanmar embassy in Silom. I forget the fees, but you can pay to have it completed in one day. It's good for 30 days from the time of issue, and I remember a few people picking up their visas being upset about this because they thought it was 30 days from the time they arrived. The process is very easy, although the embassy is a little disorganized and confusing. You turn in a simple form that you can get at the visa services and if you need photos there's a shop a block down that can take passport photos for you and assist you in the application.

That is why you have to state your intended date of entry. Then your Visa will be valid from that day.

When I filled out the visa form I put my intended date of entry as June 1st, and when I got the visa it shows "Valid from 25 May 2011 to 24 June 2011" and "duration of stay: 28 days".
