October 20, 201114 yr I have been offered a volunteer position with an Australian Charity in Thailand. Which Visa should I get? Do I also need a work permit? Thank you for any help you can give.
October 20, 201114 yr Non immigrant O and yes you will need a work permit for anything but current emergency work.
October 20, 201114 yr You will need a Non-immigrant O and you do need a work permit. Both are a bit time consuming to get papers in order but once completed, easy to continue if your charity follows what ever rules are being asked to be followed on the given day.
October 21, 201114 yr Author Thank you for your responce. What would be the best country to get a Non Immigranant O visa, or can I get one in Thailand? What is the cost of a 1 year Non O visa multi entry? Where do I get the work permit and also the cost? Thanks for all of your help.
October 21, 201114 yr IN brisbane Australia you owuld probably get a mutiple non-O, in Asia you will only get a single non-O. A single is good enough, only when you plan regular traveling out of Thailand might a mutiple non-O have more advantages. The cost is 2,000 baht for a single and 5,000 baht for a multiple in local currency. They use their own exchange rates. You will need paperwork from the charity confirming you will be working for them and asking for a visa for you. A work permit must be obtained from a Thai labour office and costs 3,100 baht per year. You obtain it with the help of your employer. Both of you need to submit paperwork.
October 21, 201114 yr Deleted a post of mine that was made in error due to misreading another post, and the replies to it. Apologies for the confusion I caused. The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
