In case of flooding and possibly closed immigration offices: Will they feast on hundreds of "overstayers" or would there be a "general amnesty" due to the fact that the Farangs were not able to get their 3-month "Face Control-Stamp" because of this "act of good" ??? Knowing how the burocracy in Thailand works, I think I already know the answer.

Cheers.

Some of the closed offices have already opened temporaey offices in dry locations. The biggest problem is finding out if they have and where. I live in Nakhon Sawan Province and my visa needs extending by next Tuesday. The office in town is flloded and closed. I sent many e-mails to Bangkok with no reply, I sent e-mails to Nakhon Sawan with no reply, I called Nakhon Sawan with no answer and I called Bangkok and got put on hold until my phone ran out of mone. In frustration, I called the goverment hotline,1111 extension 9 for English and it was answered by an English speaking person immediately. I explained the situation and she said that she would check with immigration and get back to me. I really didn't expect to hear from her, but, surprise surprise, an hour later she calld back and gave me the location of where they moved to and the phone number. For those in Nakhon Sawan, they have relocated ito the Laboor Office on the road to the railway station and the phone number is 083-485-4833. Diruing the last flood they were very lienent and waived overstay fines, but if the ofice has relocated they might take the attitude that finding it is your problem! I'd try to call 1111 extension 9 like I did.

its crazy, my 90 day reporting is due in Ayutthaya and its inder 5 feet of water, surely it should be acceptable to go to ANY immigation office in Thailand? If the planning and bueacrats incompetents of Thailand dont allow this then the country deserves NO income from overseas and we can let it sink into economic oblivion on top of sinking under water.

Immigration wants you to do the 90 day reporting at the office where you live.

Some offices do seem to accept a reprot from people in other areas, but you can't count on it.
