Single Entry, Process Time, Costs

Featured Replies

Thinking about going back home for a few weeks, I have a B-visa, but no re entry.

1. How long does it take to process a "single entry"?

2. How much does it cost? Do i need a new recent photo?

3. Can I apply for a single entry at the airport, or do I have to go to immigration, my concern is that it might be flooded later.

Should be less than a hour.

1,000 baht from immigration - slightly more at airport - photo and copies of passport/departure card I believe are required.

Airport only open 0600-2400 for departing pax so best to obtain early to be sure.

By the way, I also need to do my regular 90 days report, can I also do that at the airport instead?

No, you cannot do a 90 day reoport at the airport.

If you due date for the 90 day report is on or after the day you leave Thailand, you don't have to report untill 90 days after you return to Thailand. If the date is before you fly, you have the option of reporting by mail.

If you due date for the 90 day report is on or after the day you leave Thailand, you don't have to report untill 90 days after you return to Thailand. If the date is before you fly, you have the option of reporting by mail.

So my due date is on Tuesday 25th, can I then just send in the report by mail, it will probably arrive too late.

And also, do I need to send in my passport with the report document?

For BKK it will be to late, I believe they only allow reproting by mail if it arrives before the due date. If after you have to go in person. Other immirgation offices allow you to report bij mail up to 7 days after due date.

The procedure for reporting by mail can be found here: http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/base.php?page=90days

The address is for people in BKK, replace it with your own area.

You do not send your passport, only a copy!

Would this also be correct for an ED visa? I need two entries, one for a family visit and another for emergencies. Can I pay for both at immigration upon returning from KL with a new ED visa? I am in Phuket if it makes any difference.

Visa type has nothing to do with time to issue so should be the same. But if you only have a 90 day entry (ED visa) not sure you need two re-entry permits as they will only allow return until the original 90 days from entry date and if you have an emergency you would likely want to obtain a new visa for a new entry period of 90 days? If you are extending each 90 days then it might be insurance but at a cost.
