Bangkok To Pattaya

Featured Replies

pictures on the telly here in oz show the extent of the flooding from the air.i knew it was bad but it looked even worse than i thought .

i was going to fly to bangkok and bus or maybe taxi to pattaya .are the roads open or is that not an option now.alternative would be a flight to phuket or somewhere else.or maybe train somewhere.

3 weeks time.they reckoned on the telly the flooding may last for 4 to 6 weeks.

the google map link that someone posted is excellent.does show some flooding on the pattaya route.

Somebody will give you specific info re buses, but as for the roads no problems atm. Just driven the route.

Yes it appears that the flooding is around for a while but doubt it will affect Suv to Pattaya journey. Close Pattaya and Isaan could cope with the influx

NOT.

what is isaan like .is it worth a visit .i just googled it and know which direction it is ,but thats about it.

Overhead motorway from Bangkok to Chonburi is not yet experiencing any flooding.

Expect heavy congested roads from BKK to Pattaya. Friends spent 5½ hour by car just the other day, as many Bangkokians are evacuating to Pattaya.

Or it could have just been normal for a Bank Holiday Weekend.

Took 90 mins on Sat afternoon. Back in 2hrs Mon. A friend took 2 hrs today. Each trip, each day will be different.

OP, if you are travelling in 3 weeks better to wait until a few days prior for accurate info. For now, all buses, mini vans and taxis no probs.

It has to be acknowledged that the BKK to Chonburi Motorway does have a a few spots just SE of the airport where there are 3 klong crossings and the road is at grade level. These areas have experienced minor surface flooding after heavy rains usually taking out a lane so when the bulk of the eastern klongs start flooding who knows.

One cannot exclude the small possibility of the runways at Swampy experiencing some flooding for a brief period.

Just use the overhead motorway from Bang Na to Chonburi instead.
