If you read in the "Thailand Live Sunday" postings there are bulletins from among others FROC such as the following:

"Posted 45 minutes agoFROC warned all BKK residents for 1 m. flood as now all water gates opened. Tonight water'll get highest @ 9PM/Via@Porpich

"Where does this come from? Is it reliable? I have a limited ability to read Thai so I rely on TV for most of my news.

When I mention to the Thai family all I get is something like "Oh you and that bloody Thai Visa. Why do believe that? There is nothing on Thai news or Thai websites about it"

FROC is the Governments "Flood Relief Operations Command".

Every thing you read on here by FROC will be statements from them.

Whether you choose to believe them of not is up to you but they are the official government source.

Here is an official statement from FROC. A few days old but you can see who they are.

I have always believed the info posted here but I can't convince anyone else about it. They simply say "Nothing on Thai TV. Can't be true."

Well it's their government saying it.

And they usually have a press conference on TV every evening during the floods

It's about 21:30 now, and I haven't seen flooding in my area yet, knock on wood- not that I'm complaining.

Having read that page then I think that the posting on Thai Visa "Thailand Sunday Live" which says "FROC warned all BKK residents for 1 m. flood as now all water gates opened. Tonight water'll get highest @ 9PM/Via@Porpich" is rather dramatic.

I understood this posting as being a statement released by FROC a few minutes ago and not someones "summary" of an earlier statement. This posting makes it sound as if heavy flooding will come tonight.

Anyway thanks for the link. I have seen that page before.

I think we can relax a little bit now. No major flood is coming in the night.

Porpich Twitter site. Seems to be a Thai student trying to translate Thai news on the flooding to English.

Some info here > ThaiFlood-Eng

The warning relates to those areas of Bkk that have been flooded in the last 4 days or so. That they should prepare for more hitting them last night. And that water tide was expected to be highest at 9pm.

That's the problem with twitter. U can only share parts of the info. It's then up to us to fins out more. Be alert but always look for more info

Cheers everyone
