The Greenbus company have stated a new service, Chiang Rai to Maesai and Chiang Rai-Chiang Saen.

Goes to Maesai every 30 minutes and price about 50 baht from old bus station.

50 baht's not bad, hardly worth driving for that.

That looks like the go - shame they do not leave from the airport

I can't see why they couldn't make a loop into the airport, it's only a few minutes either way from the intersection.

probably AOT would have something to say about that, as would the taxi drivers who pay a fee to collect passengers there.

Yes, they seem to have the airport transport well tied up.

Took this service. the seats are a little bit small but it goes faster then those old buses. Yeah..it is shame that there is no public transport out/in airport

This afternoon, took the Green Bus van from the Mae Sai bus station to the old bus station in Chiang Rai. Price 46 baht. Van leaves when full. But, didn't have to wait long. One hour and ten minutes en route. A few stops for passengers to exit and board. And, the van did stop when a tourist couple waved it down near Mae Chan. The driver and ticket person were polite and efficient.
