Reliable Flood Relief Organizations

Featured Replies

I know many people who would like to donate money to help flood victims, but which organizations are trustworthy enough to actually funnel the funds to the poorest segment of the population who have been devastated by the continuing floods.

I'd rather that the majority of the funds go to people in need instead of lining the pockets of some Puiyai in charge of the relief operation.

Anyway, can anyone make suggestions regarding "reliable" flood relief organizations?

Thai Red Cross?

I second Thai Red Cross and it can be done in English online from there website.

Maybe an Idea just to give some one who lives near you.if you live in Thailand. a bit of cash and help. That way you can see what help you have given.

There have been a couple of times over the last few days when I have read that people were wanting to send aid supplies, but were asked to send money instead. Unless it ws properly set up, ie like the Red Cross, I cannot understand what use your money would be. There is nothing left in the shops to buy with your money, and you would wonder for ever if your money actually went anywhere near it was supposed to go

.

Sorry for being so fatalistic, but maybe I been here too ling now to see any good in sending money to "organisations"
