Uk Family Visitor Visa

Featured Replies

Hello Guys,

My Dad will be providing accomodation and financial support for thai wife visit to UK. I am wondering who is the sponsor in this case?

It is me or My Dad? and if it is my dad, do I still need to provide a letter or just a letter from my dad and the applicant would be sufficeint.

Thank you for any help

As your Dad is providing financial support for your, I am assuming, Thai wife, then it's he who should act as the sponsor, he should provide evidence of the financial support he is offering, he might want to also provide a covering letter explaining why he is providing financial support to your wife.

You might also want to provide a covering letter explaining the reasons for the trip, assuming you are the husband, what is your status, living in the UK or Thailand or wherever, and your joint plans for the future.

It's important that, as it's a visit visa, your wife gives evidence of a reason to return.

Make both letters snappy and to the point, the ECO will probably speed read them.

As this is a family visit it has the right of appeal you may sponsor her with your father offering accommodation & financial support confirmed in writing.

So in answer to your question either really but it does ask on the form who is paying for the trip which is the applicants Father in law.
