Hat Yai To Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi everyone..

I bought train ticket 2 months ago from Hat yai to Bkk, and from Bkk to Chiang Mai. Now I know that the railway is closed between Bkk and Chiang Mai, so i will return this ticket and buy plane ticket.. I am thinking between going by train to Bkk and then from train station to go to the airport, but i am not sure is this possible. is the subway ok, or taxi, any suggestion? if not, i will just buy plane ticket between hat yai and chiang mai. I have to be in chaig mai on 7th, and if i go by train i will leave hat yai on 5th. now the airplane ticket between hat yai and chiang mai and little bit more expensive so that;s why i am asking this..

Thanks..

I'm certainly no expert on Thai travels during a flood. I don't think any one is. But I'd suggest that any travel plan that involves Bangkok over the next few weeks should be reconsidered.

I'd suggest finding out if you can even buy an airplane ticket from BKK to Chiang Mai since news reports indicate there's a mad rush on airplane, train, bus and freeways to get the heck out of Bangkok.

If you wait until you can get a definitive answer about the flooding, the price of the HDY to Chiang Mai ticket may be much higher- if you can find one.

Not to mention that the train station in Bangkok may close between now and then. It may even close between the time you hop on a train in Hat Yai and the time that train arrives in Bangkok. Nobody knows- or at least nobody that's speaking authoritatively.

Better to avoid Bangkok altogether until the dust settles.

I think the trains have been cancelled in and out of Bangkok

North for sure

South i think today

Call 1690 their english operator is ok

Perhaps better to avoid Bangkok and the floods, and use Air Asia's daily direct-flight HDY-CNX, despite any extra cost ?
