What a load of nonsense... just shows how the media can be bought and paid for.. This disaster we are going through in Thailand, was and is a man-made disaster , completely brought about by incompetent ministers in charge of all the involved agencies.. and a very naive Prime Minister.. These same people are now trying to turn the public anger away from themselves and blame everyone else.. Amazing Thailand. If Yinluck had any balls, she would resign and hang up her Burberry Boots forthwith..!

When I hear you, you're not happy with the Thai government. What are you doing then overhere.Pack your stuf and leave.mad.gif

Stay in your perfect country.Greece,maybe?

When you cannot stand different opinions, could you please stay out of the Thai Visa Forum? If you don't like it then leave is such a lame comment......

Agree totally. Seems like many others (including the following) can't accept anyone having an opinion except for them. Agree with them or leave the country. B.S. The fact Thais do not accept their responsibility for anything. It's always somebody or something else at fault.

People who have to stoop to the old stand by if you don't like it leave are just proving they have indeed become truly at one with the "thai way" so sad for them.

Serious question about this "if you don't like it here, why don't you pack your bags and leave" issue.

As a foreigner here, you have no voting rights, meaning you cannot change the situation. So you are merely left with just whining and complaining about something over which you have absolutely no control. I can't imagine that this can be good for your heart or blood pressure.

You can't own land (effectively saying that you can't own a property unless it's a condo). Therefore you are constantly running the risk of being booted out if your Thai wife finds someone else. The chances increase exponentially the greater the age difference.

The education sucks, and private institutions charge exorbitant prices for your lok krungs.

From head to toe, the country is corrupt, so it must be extremely galling to have to deal with this everyday.

Each and every successive government is incompetent.

The food is crap.

The exchange rate is unfavourable.

You have to report every 90 days.

The list goes on.

So why do you continue to stay? Yes, your wife and (her) family is here. But then, your family is THERE, in your own home country. Over THERE, you get to eat what you want. The Government serves the people, not themselves. They are voted in democratically, no vote buying, no nepotism, no cronyism. You get to vote the government you want. Education's great (see where it has gotten you, in a positive sense of course). You get to kick your wife out if she cheats on you. You are no longer interested in the cheap booze and sex. And tons of other reasons.

Really, by continuing to stay here and suffer all the miseries above, are you a masochist? Or stupid?

We've heard this 'pack and leave if you don't like it' way too often. Only fools would react this way to minor criticism. Just remember that this sort of reaction says A LOT MORE about you than about whoever you're addressing. Pathetic really.annoyed.gif

I am a bit tired of the constant complaining about the Thai Government and this flood and many other things. First of all, this flooding is going on in many countries in Asia, including India. I would love the know where the complainers came from then draw a comparison with how their countries are run with the way Thailand is run. It would be quite interesting.

Mother nature will never loose her ability to adapt herself. Of course, given the current situation, at a pace clearly much more slow than most people expect, accept and want to experience. We gave her a rather questionable pacemaker. Whatever politicians and their economists are doing on this particular blue planet, nothing seems to help these days.

Yes, Mother Nature will mend herself quite well once she has eradicated the vermin which just reached 7,000,000,000 inhabitants. Do a bit of research on what humanity looks like over the next 40 years when there are 9,000,000,000 people on the earth, the mean temperature of the air and oceans has risen by 2 degrees and water / food are scarce.
