I have heard that there is a newly opened office at BKK Int'l airport where I can get a re-entry permit/visa so that my retirement visa will not be invalidated.

Is there such an office at the airport? If yes, where is it located (approximately)? Has anyone actually used it recently?

This could be important due to flooding at Chang Wattana.

Yes, I tried the search function and found nothing.

There is such facility, and you must use it after you have cheked in and before you go to immigration. Look for a desk that says "re-entry permit" near immigration or ask an immigration official.

The desk is only open from 06:00 till 24:00! and the price is slightly more than at an immigraiton office.

Best is always to try to get a re-entry permit before you go to the airport at a normal office. Currenty there are two extra immigration ofcies in BKK, because of the situation at Cheang Wattana road. See here for details on which other office you can use:
