Can somebody offer some assistance,

I'm a British expat living and working here in Thailand.

I've been with my Thai partner now 3 years and her 5 year old daughter lives with us also. I'm planning to take them to Florida (Disneyworld ) next year on holiday.

Can any one offer some guidence what might assist my application for a tourist visa for them.

Thanks in advance for your comments

First thing to bear in mind that it's not your application for them they apply in their own right, whilst it sounds like I'm being pernickety, that's the way the US authorities will look at it.

Your partner and her child will need to prove compelling reasons to return to Thailand, work record, a business, property and the like.

The fact that you are a Brit and not a US Citizen could possibly go in her favour as the US Consular may believe that she is not simply off to start a new life in the US with her American partner without going through the appropriate channels, especially if she presents evidence of your relationship and your ties to Thailand.

Let us know how she gets on, I'm in a similar position.

Good luck

Like theoldgit said not being an American might just help with the visa process. If you are working here and have a work permit then that will be a big help as it will show you need to come back to Thailand for work and most likely she will return with you. The biggest thing is proving to them that she will return. Some people think having a house or land will work, but it wont. It will help but you can still live in the USA keeping you land. If she has a had a steady job and get's a letter from her employer this is good and if you can prove your relationship and show you need to return to Thailand to work that will help.

having a car or truck with a monthly payment will help too.

Good luck!!

PS Im from Fla, used to go to Disnsy all the time, my uncle worked there and would get me and two of my friends in for free.

You all should have a great time, I would plan in going to Sea World too not too far from Disney.

Please let me know if your Thai partner misses Thai food once y'all get to Florida. Originally from Thailand, I'm a retiree living in Orlando and can recommend places where you can get Thai groceries.

I have plenty of pictures showing us together and house rental agreements from 3 years ago in both our names so this should help.

The work issue shouldn't be a problem either.

Where going to start putting some more money into her account though also so it looks like she has more substantial savings.

I've been to Florida many times while growing up and i love it there. All we used to do is book the flight and get on the plane and we were there.

It really is difficult for Thai's to travel.

Hopefully we can obtain the visa's.

I don't want to start paying some of the prices that the visa shops are charging.

Just got to get the little girls passport next week then we can start with the American embassy.

Thanks for info
