Russian woman escapes attempted abduction in East Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- A motorbike taxi driver is currently being hunted by Police following an attempted abduction of a female Russian tourist who feared he may have attempted to sexually assault her. Late on Wednesday Night Police and rescue services were called to a road close to the Maprachan Reservoir, east of Pattaya and spoke with the alleged victim, Miss Yuria Karnova aged 25 who had sustained minor leg injuries after she jumped from the moving bike, driven by the motorbike taxi driver. Police were told that this was her first time in Pattaya and she was travelling back to her Hotel with her two friends who each took one motorbike taxi. The driver of Miss Karnova’s bike clearly took a detour without her knowing and appeared to be taking her to the Star Bungalows which are situated close to the reservoir. At this point she jumped from the bike and ran towards a nearby outdoor Karaoke Bar, while the offending bike driver escaped.
