Hi,

I have a double entry visa issued in Norway.

Date of Issue is 23 aug 2011

Enter before date is 22 feb 2012

I arrived Thailand 03 sept 2011

I extended with 30 days 02. nov 2011 (which gave me one day overstay)

Tha passport now says: application of stay is permitted up 02 dec 2011

Question 1:

When will I have to re-enter thailand again for the second entry?

Alt 1: within 90 days from date of issue, which is 21 nov 2011

Alt 2: within 90 days from the date of arrival, which is 12/02/2011

Thanks

22 feb 2012 , is your final entry date .

the double entry tourist visa is active for 180 days , only .

As you've got conflicting responses, I'll agree with elliss.

You're currently permitted to stay until the December 2, 2011.

Then you will have to leave Thailand.

You can activate your second entry any time before Feb 22, 2012.

At which point you will receive another 60 days, that can be extended an additional 30 days.

hi ,

you can enter thailand again any date you want upto the 21st feb (you maybe able to enter on the 22nd feb but i think your supposed to enter before that date)

your current permission to stay ends on dec 2nd so you should leave thailand on that date or before unless you want to be on overstay again.

when you leave thailand and come back in to activate your second entry you don't have to do that on the same day , you could go visit another country for many days or weeks - it is ok to have a gap between the entries.

depending on your location you may have gained by using the free 30 day entry when you fly in and then used your 2 entry visa afterwards, giving you a stay of 30 + 60 + 30 + 60 + 30 days.

As said it depends on what you want. You can enter anytime before the expiration date to obtain 60+30 but you must leave Thailand on or before the current permitted to stay date.

Ok, thank you all for clarifying information.

It seems to be a good idea with a gap between the entries.

A follow up,

Can I do this re-entry over land. For example Ranong. Somebody tells me I will then only get 15/30 days, even if I have the visa.

And also,

I believe you must always have a return ticket (or ticket out somewhere) when you enter Thailand, right? (Even though they did not ask for any the first time)

That is; a ticket to some other country after 90 days.

Is that correct?

Thanks again

You got some wrong information from 'somebody'. :)

You can enter either by land or air and use your current visa. You will then get the initial 60 days.

Just remember to write the visa number on the TM card.

No, you don't need a return ticket when entering Thailand.
