I wanted to transfer amount about 5000$ USD to Thailand.

I would like to know what is the way which offers lowest commissions and best exchange rate, so that to minimize the losses.

From Israel for example we can transfer money using our Postal Bank via service called Eurogiro. So first of all I would like to know the opinion of the members here upon this service.

Other way I know is a SWIFT transfer. Actually Eurogiro seems to be using SWIFT for it's transfer, yet it offers to transfer cash, without the need for the sender to have a bank account. (http://www.eurogiro.com/index.php/services/cash-transfers)

However, I wouldn't like to limit the discussion to Eurogiro only. Other potentially good ways, like bank to bank using swift, using your credit card to withdraw from AOEN atms and so on.. So that the outcome of our discussion will be the most efficient method for sending amounts of 2000$+ USD to Thailand.

OP Too much information..Have you asked your bank, what do they say ?
