Greetings all. In fact i have now had 11 of these WP and Visas, but it always seems to change so thought best to come here and ask advice from anyone who genuinely knows the answers to the below.

I have been out of work for about a year, just got new job offer and have all the papers i need. According to my reading and understanding on the KL website Visa section they will NOT issue me a 1 year Multiple Entry Visa on the basis that of course as of yet i have no Work Permit. It seems thus that i have to first apply for a 3 month single entry, come back, apply for the WP and when i get that, hopefully within the 3 months, i can then hop over the Poi Pet border with Jack Golf and get a new 1 year Multiple Entry. Anyone know for starters if i am right about this?

On the note of hoping over the Poi Pet border, jack Golf have indeed confirmed that they offer this service. However, it is again my understanding that to get the 3 month visa and be allowed back into Thailand i will have to prove i have an outbound ticket with valid travel date before the expiry of that 3 month visa. With me? With this being the case, i will in fact have bought an airline ticket for no reason yes? Or can you get back in and explain that you will be going by bus to Poi Pet blah blah blah.

Visa Form, as attached. I have forgotten what goes in certain sections. Left hand column - Type of Travel Document, i assume they mean Passport yes? Right hand column - All countries for which document is valid? I assume ALL. yes? Name and address of local guarantor, i do not recall being asked this before and have no idea here. Name and address of guarantor in Thailand - I assume the company offering me work yes? KL Visa App Form Blank.doc

Many thanks in advance guys and gals.

You should have the company apply for the WP prior to going to a consulate for a visa.

The Labor Office will give you a form, WP3, which will show the consulate that the WP has been applied for.

Once you have the visa, return to the Labor Office and pick up the WP.

Then you can go to immigration to get the visa extended, assuming you're eligible for an extension.

Apologies but is that not amounting to the same result though in that i will still only be issued a 3 month SE at KL?

Yes, in the region you will only be issued a sinle non-B, untill you have the actual WP and a minimum validity left see this table: http://www.thaivisa....ring-countries/

Yes that is my reading Mario. Was my reading of the form also correct as in what to put as the wording is ambiguous to say the least.

Having just returned from Penang applying for a new work permit i can confirm as the consulate says a WP3 form saying your WP is awaiting collection is not the" blue book "come back with the blue book you can get multiple non buntil then only 3 month single entry

Nice way of making money it seems as you effectively pay twice!

Indeed as i saw posted somewhere else, i think a lot of this is racketeering and such like. But what can we do? If we don't like it............i am OK, not too bothered just want to make sure i do not get there and get told i have it all wrong, that is when to me it is a scam. They should be guiding us, not simply cash collectors at desks.

It is not racketeering, but ensuring that persons on a non-B actually start working and not only apply for a job to get a multiple non-B and once they have it turn the job offer down. For many people a single would be enough anyway, as they get an extension of stay.
