:o 2am closing, 1am closing, no sales between 2pm and 5pm, midnight closing as of last week and now proposals of no Sunday sales!!! Just how many tourists does this post-tsunami Thailand want and expect? As a teacher of six years, it's inconvenient. But the reality is plain crazy. Does Mr. Thaksin have shares, or friends with shares, in any alcohol giants or restaurant chains?

That wasn't my point. How is it going to affect the country? Tourism is, after all, a rather large slice of their income.

Just go to your local shop, if they know you you'll get your booze as usual.

Thais are extremely inventive! As it will be illegal to buy alcohol, but not consume, I will just buy my prawn fried rice for 90 baht and they will give me a bottle of chang free. :o

Not trying to be funny, but how many tourists do you think will know about these laws? And how many will say "ohh they stop serving booze at 12 lets go somewhere else"? very very few i expect.

Come Thursday night at midnight I will be able to nip down to my local supermarket and buy all the booze that I want.(New 24 hour UK licensing laws come into effect after 60 years......here we go etc.)

However methink i would rather just stay in bed :o

Could be that we are trying to encourage all those rich Thai "toorists"to come and visit us ...weather great minus 5 and we probably have more issarn reataurants over "ere tahn in LOS...how times change......ear we go -go-...

Word will get round though..

With the combination of this / bird flu / and the tsunami, the only use for this new airport is going to be people wanting out :o

Off next week on a charabang / Booze cruse (first in years) to the delightful town of Calais where hopefully should be able to pick up some cheep hootch and "Vino collapso" for Christmas.

Mate drove over a couple of weeks ago and reconed he filled up the range rover for less than a hundred quid and he even mentioned than he spotted some Thai beers in "eastenders"but didnt know what they were...prob.Singh...but our local Ho Heng is doing Chang at £15 a case so hopefully should pick it up over there for about a fiver which is about 20p a bottle :o

Booze flights from Bangkok to London...could be on the cards....

Hey, you make a return to Old Blighty very tempting. Have they opened anything similar to Soi 6, Pattaya there yet? :D
