Hey team,

Hopefully someone can help me out here. kind of a unique question.

So i recently got a double entry visa from Laos, came back into thailand (using my first entry) and hung out for a few weeks. I wanted to be able to stay in Thailand for the full 6 months (2+1 x2) but I knew I was going to Singapore just a couple weeks after getting a new visa so i bought a re entry to come back with so as to not use one of the actual entries on my visa. Unfortunatley for me, on the way back into the country from Singapore the immigration officer stamped 'USED' on my double entry visa rather than my re-entry permit, which i think messes everything up.

Does this mean that coming back from Singapore now counts as my second entry? Meaning that I can only stay for 2 months from that date then extend for 1 more and have to get a whole new visa again? And if so, is there any way to rectify the situation with Immigration and not have the 1000 baht I spent on the re entry just wasted? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

If your re-entry permit was used your permitted to stay would be what it says - not 60 days. If 60 days your second entry was used and stamp was properly marked as used. Had you filled in the re-entry stamp information in the visa section of your arrival card? You can visit immigration to explain and they may be able to help.

If you received stamp for re-entry (old permitted to stay date) it was an immigration error and should be fixed easily.

If you received 60 days it was use of visa entry either in error or because you failed to enter information on card and likely can be corrected. (Although if it was my error I would just take the hit.)
