76 year old German stabbed over parking dispute in South Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- A 76 year old German man was stabbed following a confrontation with two Thai’s who he accused of attempting to steal his motorbike. The incident occurred outside of the PS Guest House in Soi Yamato in South Pattaya and led to the arrest of Khun Yusagorn aged 18 and Khun Wanapa aged 27 who were caught as they attempted to flee the scene. Mr. Rudy Haneman, who was stabbed in the stomach was rushed to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital where his condition was described as serious but stable. The two arrestees claimed they wanted to park their motorbike outside of the guesthouse and were moving Mr. Haneman’s bike so they could park. Mr. Haneman then came out and accused the pair of attempting to steal the bike. A verbal altercation between the two parties soon escalated which led to a scuffle involving two foreign friends of Mr. Haneman, during which the 76 year old was allegedly stabbed by Khun Yusagorn. We were unable to verify the story with Mr. Haneman who remains under observation in Hospital.

Getting back to the OP, it seems that respect for the elderly is yet another Thai custom that's being selectively ignored these days, huh?
