This will probably seem like a very stupid question, but I can't seem to find any specific information on it, so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. I have a triple entry tourist visa, issued in the states. The two months of my first visa expires on December 9th. I was told this means that I need to leave and re-enter the country before December 9th, so I was planning on flying out of the country to somewhere nearby and flying back the same day (I have obligations in Thailand and didn't want to spend a long, drawn-out bus or train ride and would rather just spend the money rather than pay the opportunity cost).

So my question is- do I need to check in anywhere (Thai embassy/consulate) before I re-enter, or can I simply go through customs in say, Cambodia, turn around and get right back on a plane to BKK? And if I do fly to Cambodia, do I need to pay for some kind of transit visa in order to leave customs (like you do in Laos) or is it free like in Thailand?

Thanks for your help.

You do not have to leave as a 30 day extension of stay for 1,900 baht is available from any immigration office - but remember all entries must be made before the expiration date on your visa so if only 3 months from issue it would probably be best to leave and return for a new entry.

Yes you can just turn around and return. Yes a visa will be required for Cambodia.

hi,

how long do you want to spend in thailand in the future ?

what is the enter before date written on your visa ? because this affects your maximum length of stay and what you can get from this visa.
