I recently purchased an Ipad 2 and have a few apps. But feel i should be getting more out of my pad than just surfing the net. Any apps that you would recommend? thanks.

What apps do yuo need? What are you using it for.

Did you google 'most popular ipad apps'?

I have skype, games, garageband, Facebook, Twitter. But just wondered what others use and think i may like.

Flipboard.

Facebook app is nice (way better than the browser UI). Twitter app is nice.

Flipboard kills it for me though - it's basically your own curated all-in-one magazine. It pulls news articles from sources all over the web, and is highly configurable. So I set it to a few feeds that interest me, and I get fresh content every time I open it. you can page through it like a book and it's just beautiful. And it's free!

Flexplayer is great for watching .avi videos. Some apps are kind of where you are from. I'm from the US and I use magicjack (free) to make free calls to the US. Also CBS News. iHome+sleep is a good alarm clock.

Flipboard for iPhone's just out and it's as good as the one for iPad.

One of my favorite apps though is Readable for easy web page reading on small screens. Works on iPad and iPhone.

Installous... the app that keeps giving...

What does it do? Doesn't show up in iPhone app store -

You need a jailbroken iPad and then look it up on Google. It lets you install any (?) app in the app store except for free.

If software piracy is your thing, a must have.

Likewise, if you can't afford $2 for an app yet you have a $600 phone. Apparently many are in this strange situation. :whistling:

A friend told me about this too. I dont need to save myself a couple of dollars here and there. I'm happy to pay.

If you're going to be writing/taking notes at all then UPAD is great.

I use mine alot for following the news/reading newspapers, so depending on where you're from check out the news apps. BBC news, SkyNews (downloads the iPhone version to get it free), Aljazeera (great for watching 24hour news for free, The Times, Eyewitness (This is great if you like photography), The Sun (pretty terrible UK daily newspaper but you get 30 issues free)

If you're interest in astronomy at all then Star Chart is excellent

If you like Games try Blitz. I'm not really into games much but this one has me completely addicted. Or Chess.com app if you like chess

If you want to follow up to date sports scores then LiveScore is good

It looks and feels great ... but the content??? Its only twittercrap from what i can see when you wana add something. E.g, go to a major newspaper site and most addable stuff is just the columnists tweets, not the newspaper content.

I hope Im wrong.

I don't have the iPhone 4S yet, but as far as the iPhone 4 is concerned, cool applications start showing up after jailbreak. Just my 2 cents
