Hi

I am here in Thailand on a 30 day visa but my total stay will be for 51 days. I had to travel in a bit of a hurry so did not have time to make the normal 2 month visa. So I am now trying to work out what will be my best method to get the extensions i need. My wife's family live near Korat so crossing over to Cambodia for a 15 day extension would be an option. But for some reason I am thinking I can get a 60 day extension because I am married to a thai (not sure if I am right tho). I would just like to find an option that would lead to the least time lost messing about going to boarders.

Thanks

What you have is a Visa Exempt Entry not a Visa.

Yes you can get a 60 Day Extension from Immigration. 1,900 Baht.

2.24 In the case of an alien

visiting a Thai spouse or child:

Permission will be granted for a period of not more than 60 days at a time

(1) Proof of relationship.

(2) In the case of a spouse, their marital relationship shall be de

jure (legitimate) and de facto.

Ok so I had a problem with the fact our wedding certificate was back in the uk and we were in such a rush to get back to my wife's family for new year I had to just settle with the 7 day extension. I believe I can now get a copy of the certificate from register office. Would I then be able to take this to the immigration office and extend for the 60 days or will they say to me because I already extended for 7 days that I can not extend again.

Believe you would have to exit/return for 15 days visa exempt to be able to extend 60 as that 7 days is actually a refusal for extension of stay but also believe show of original certificate is required and there are only two issued. But perhaps the ledger entry copy could be accepted?
