It's been a long time since I lived in London but whenever I saw a car with a red "L" (learner) plate I gave it plenty of room and made allowances for its behavior. If Thailand had the same concept (and if Thais were forgiving of learning drivers) I would keep one on my car at all times.

i think how it works in thailand is u get your licence first, then u learn to drive.

no surprise then that the standard of driving here is so poor.

Yes...my wife's nephew bought a car and then started to drive. He had an accident during the first week. Lucky: no bodily injuries.
