Six South Pattaya Market Vendors caught gambling

PATTAYA: -- A group of market traders were caught by Pattaya Police in the early hours of Tuesday as they waited for customers and decided to pass the time by playing cards for money which is an illegal act in Thailand. An informant provided Police with information of the impromptu card game at the South Pattaya Road Market opposite the Chaimongkol Temple, involving 3 men and 3 women who gathered around and started to gamble. It was not long until Police arrived to break up the event and the 6 individuals were arrested and taken to Pattaya Police station along with the evidence including a deck of cards and a small amount of money. All were charged with gambling and were held pending further enquiries.
