Boxing Day 2011

Formany people in the UK, Australia, NZ, Ireland and Canada, Boxing Day is as much apart of the Christmas Season as Christmas Day itself! The origins of the term are unclear but itseems that one of the most sensible explanations is that in return for ensuringthat their Lords and Masters had a good Christmas, the servants were given 26thDecember as a day off to visit friends and family and the Lord gave them a boxwhich contained presents and left over food.

This tradition has continued and BoxingDay food has become a day to eat up food that wasn’t consumed on Christmas Day-usually cold to save the need for cooking.

We at The Olde Bell have takenthis idea to a higher level and on Boxing Day 2011 we present our third Boxing Day ColdCuts Buffet.In abreak with tradition – none of the food we offer is actually left overs – but speciallyproduced for the occasion!

We’ve got:- Cold Turkey, Stuffings,

Lancashire Ham, Roast Beef,

AssortedContinental Meats

a coupleof excellent examples of Pate,

a range of British, Australian &Continental Cheeses;

Picklesand Chutneys, as well as a range ofSalads and Breads.

Ifyou’d like to join us for this extravaganza, tickets are available behind thebar for just 390 baht. However, if you mention ThaiVisa, we’ll discountthis to 350 baht if you buy your tickets by 24th December. Hope tosee you there

BTW: Although our Christmas Dinner midday sitting isnow sold out, we do have a few places left for the 7pm party. Again, ticketsare available behind the bar. priced at 695 baht (625 if you are a localresident)

Sorry I missed the timings out! The Buffet starts at 7pm.

I stocked up on French cheeses today. The Ham's coming tomorrow and by Monday there'll be loads of items to enjoy!

We've got a couple of very quaff-able boxed wines to complement the buffet or why not try a bottle of London Pride Beer or a can of Natch West country Cider?
