Every year I have to buy copious amounts of topsoil, as my garden seems to sink? what can I do to stop this?

I normally buy compost, and I realise that most of it is food for the plants, so a fair amount will go.

Any advice please

Any organic soil / compost is going to break down... so will be an on going thing to replace it...

It might be cheaper to use ground up coconut fibre or rice husks ... if you are in a rice growing area.... and mix, work it into the existing soil (depending on what's available where you live). If you don't work it in, it will wash away in first heavy rain... :whistling:

You'll probably need to add fertilizer also, either buffalo manure,(again if available) or a granular fertilizer... as organic matter is going to eat up the nitrogen while it breaks down.

Gives meaning to "a garden is never finished" ;)
