I am looking to buy some electronics, including a new laptop.

Do some of the bigger stores in Thailand have after Christmas sales (i.e. Big C, Power Buy & Banana IT).

And if so, are the discounts that much?

I was on the lookout for a new Itouch recently..and the prices are the same in every shop selling them. Don't waste too much time shopping around if you know which model you want.

As Thailand does not even have Christmas it is highly unlikely they will have after Christmas sales.

You must have been on the wrong floor.

I found that TVs go on sale right around when the new models come out. Didn't really notice big sales after the holidays. Not sure about other electronics, but might be the same?

I think some stores have after NEW YEAR sales. I've just bought an LG TV at the Num Chai store in Pattaya which was advertised as being on sale with a sizeable reduction.
