Temporary Marine Rescue Center opens at Pattaya Port

PATTAYA: -- To ensure marine safety is maintained over the busy festive season a 24 hour Marine Safety Control Center has been set-up on the Bali Hai Port at the southern end of Pattaya Beach. The center will run until 3rd January and is being run by the Rajamaritime School based in South Pattaya, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation and Pattaya City Hall. Their busiest night is expected to be New Year Eve when many pleasure boats are scheduled to offer midnight cruises. A short ceremony was held at the Port on Monday to open the temporary center, led by Khun Gitisak, Deputy Minister of Transport and Khun Komsan, the Governor of Chonburi Province. In a marine emergency, the numbers to call are 038 411 441 or 1199.
