Where to get a great Geang Hang Lea, the Burmese pork curry? Tried Naam Mae Ping yesterday and thought it was good, but not great. Anybody any recommendations?

I'd like to know too; and not just a restaurant, but also a cheaper takeaway option at a market. There are many vendors selling this at Mae Hia market; some reasonable but none truly great.

One of the best I've had was at The Gallery IIRC, but at a price, of course.

The stalls in Warorot market where the Thai tourists queue up for fried pork make a passable Gaeng Haeng Lay. I've certainly had much worse.

You mean Gang hanlay. Huen Phen Aroi mak mak! Many other Mueng (Chiang Mai local) dishes there too.

PS. Huen Phen is on Ratchamanka opposite Anuban Chiang Mai. Daoyai is also correct in his suggestions.

Huen phen's is good, but the best is at Saen Kham terrace.(At Baan nai faan down by the night safari side of town.) if you've had this, you really wouldn't mention huen phen's in the same breath.
