Cheapest And Easiest In/Out Visa Run From Saraburi?

Featured Replies

Hello Gents and Merry Christmas!

I have an 1 year O visa and I have to do a simple in and out visa run by the 3rd of January 2012.

I live in Saraburi about an hour and half North East of BKK.

Can anyone tell me the cheapest and easiest visa run I can do from here?

I was thinking the Cambodia run would be the cheapest but not sure how to go about it from Saraburi or what company to use.

Does anyone know of a pick up point in Saraburi to go to either Cambodia or Laos?

They have minivans in Saraburi that go to BKK and Rangsit.

Any help truly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance and Happy New Year to you all. :-)

I think they also have Minivans from Saraburi to Sa Kaeo, from there it's not far to Aranyaprathet or Rong Rua Market where the border with Cambodia is.

Only just seen your post so this may be a little late.

I am also in Saraburi. I have been doing the visa runs for the last year. Being so far away from any border there are no 'easy' option, I have found that the easiest option for me is to take a flight to KL, Although clearly not the cheapest option is is hassle free and less stressful than minivan runs to border towns and messing around getting through the border.

Minivan from Saraburi to Future Park Rangsit. Out of the minivan and into a Taxi usually parked just across the pavement. Taxi Meter. is around Bht 400 + expressway tolls.

While KL is no necessarily the lowest fare destination I found it is the only one where there is enough time to get a return flight on the same day. Taking a Taxi back from the airport to Saraburi will cost around Baht 1200.

Leaving Saraburi on an 8:00am minivan gets me back home in saraburi at around 10:00pm. You will get a couple of hours in the old KL airport so plenty of time for a bite to eat and a wonder around duty free.

For reference if you do this on your next visa run get your Air Asia ticket well in advance as leaving it to the last week will cost almost double.

Just had a quick look at Air Asia. These flights on the 2nd Jan.

FD3573 12.00 - 1510 Baht 3,340

FD3574 1645 - 1950 Baht 3,340

For advance booking for mid-March

FD3573 12.00 - 1510 Baht 1,890

FD3574 1645 - 1950 Baht 1,890

So for an advance booking you can see it is just over 1/2 the price and for me, to be able to do the visa run havin a leisurley, hassle free day for less than Baht 6,000 for the whole trip is worth the spend.

Although doing it this way for this trip is more expensive for future runs it may be worth consideration.

Hey thanks for that,

I'll defo consider that for the next time round. Never been to KL. What a huge saving on air tickets buying in advance.

I've just found out on here I can get a 60 extension at Lopburi so going for that.this time.but quite fancy the KL trip for next time.

Thank you

Is your 1-year O visa at the end or your first 90-days is up. If the latter you'll need to do that visa run.

If you go to Lop Buri immigration it's in the grounds of the Police Station. The entrance is between the 1st and 2nd exit on the roundabout itself. The immigration office is a small building over the back on the right hand side.

Reference the flight to KL, it's to the old KL airport not the new one. If you want to see a bit of KL you can get taxi's to town easy enough though.

My non multi O visa is at the end of it's first 90 days. I think I better just do the visa run then. My mate can take me to Cambodia today so will do that. Silly Q alert..... But everything will be as normal today at the border won't it? I know today is still a holiday but if I go tomorrow I'll have to pay overstay won't I?

Yes and yes as answered in other thread.
