French Want To Obtain A Work Permit In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hello,

Actually, i'm making a business in Chiang Mai.

Everything was ok until my lawyer in Chiang Mai asked to find 7 thai people for applying my work permit (i have already 2 millions bahts)

I don't understand...i checked everywhere and it looks like that the correct number of thai people i have to employ is 4 instead of 7...

The only answer my lawyer said to me is : "you're french so the number is different !!!"

Does anyone have the same problem ?

Best regards.

PS : Sorry for my poor english :-(

Your lawyer got it wrong or you may have misunderstood him.

Minimum 7 shareholders are needed to register a company, but not all need to be Thai nationals as long as the majority of the shares, ie at least one share more than half of the total shares, are owned by Thais. I read last year about plans to reduce the minimum to 3 shareholders but don't know if this has been implemented.

I am not sure if there is a required minimum of Thai employees for the work permit, but there is minimum of 4 Thai employees for the extension of stay for the reason of employment (clause 2.1 of Police Order 777/2551).

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
