ABAC Poll: King’s health best news for 2011

BANGKOK, 1 January 2012 (NNT) - Heartwarming developments on His Majesty the King’s health have been found to be what Thai people love to hear most in 2011, according to a recent ABAC Poll.

The survey, which was conducted among 2,100 people in 17 provinces during December 20-30, found that the best news for Thai people was HM the King’s improving health and his 7th cycle birthday anniversary with 53 percent.

Coming second and third are the flood water recession and the government’s execution of its promises, with 19 and 12 percent.

Ranked fourth and fifth are the election of Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra as the first female premier of the country and the victories of Thai athletes in international competitions.

The most heartbreaking news is the flood devastation and the government’s failure to solve the problems with 51 percent, followed by the rising cost of living with 15 percent. The third worst news is the spread of crimes and narcotics trade. Coming fourth and fifth are the political conflicts and the ongoing unrest in the Deep South with nine and six per cent respectively.

The five most favorite TV hosts are Sorayut Suthasanajinda, Kitti Singhapat, Kanok Ratwongsakul, Narakorn Tiyayon and Patcharasri Benjamas.
