Trip To Japan

Featured Replies

My wife is in here in the UK and has FLR.

We're thinking about a trip to Tokyo later in the year. As a UK National I don't need a visa.

It seem's my wife does. Looking here:

Are they quite "painless" to get and is there any cost?

Many thanks wai.gif

Married, travelling together, accommodation booked etc., should be fine but not so easy on their own unless prior history.

I looked into it a couple of years ago and it seemed relatively painless.

I can't find any information about cost or how long they are valid for? (as in how fare in advance you can you get the visa before you travel - not length of stay)

I have no first hand experience but I believe it can be a bit tricky for a Thai national to get a visa for Japan, I suspect it might be easier if you are travelling together.

With respect, OG, the OP and his wife are resident in the UK, so should apply there.

I have no experience nor knowledge of Japanese visas; but imagine that as she is married to a Brit and has leave to remain in the UK that it would be relatively straightforward.

Visa Fees indicate a cost of £22 for a single entry.
