Does anybody know of a reasonably priced hotel or guesthouse as close as can be to the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok?

not that I am aware of or have seen lately. But there are mid-class HTls (around 800/1000b/N) in Pinklao-along the way to there-pretty close to OLD sai Thai in fact, new Sai Thai is some 5-6 kms further,

Now think:

many destinations (why not tell us to where?-might even give beter advice) from there are also reachable by minibus from central BKK places

If people ask this its usually for early morning-not really a jam-prone time to go OUT of town-thus from that notorious dirt-cheap bekpekparadise Khaosarn rd its just a 20 min ride by citybus 511 to there
