My son likes to watch MT basically because he loves kickboxing

I am looking for a school/training camp where he can go internal for a month

during his summer break in July/August.

Just my idea, maybe a bad idea, give me your opinions or suggestions

or when possible some locations in Bangkok or Ayutthaya

thanks

Bangkok has many gyms, most of them will have kids his own age training there also (which might be handy for the clinching/sparring).

A Brit (Rob Cox aka "Bangkok Rob") has a gym a bit in the outskirts of Bangkok, and i hear a lot of good things about this gym. I haven't been there but i met Rob when he was working at Kaewsamrit years ago. Because his gym is outside of the busy roads the air will be cleaner and there will be less distractions for your kid (dangerous traffic, hostile locals, soi dogs, drunk farang, etc).

His website: http://www.kiatphontipgym.com/

(since Rob is english himself he will be able to communicate with your kid and with you in a normal way so its easier to explain what you expect, what you hope for, etc).

If you will be there with your kid the location might not be so good if you dont train, since its in the middle of nowhere and going there by taxi might be cumbersome.

Another option in the heart of BKK is "Jittigym". I have trained here before and really liked the gym (a lot of personal attention, good trainers, etc). This is their website: http://jittigym.com/

This is a normal Thai gym though, where most trainers only speak a few words of Thai. The owner, Mr Jitti speaks English well though, but he will be busy during training hours also with running the gym and doing other stuff. It might therefore not be the best place to leave a 13-year old by himself. If you will be staying there with him the location might be better than Rob's gym because it is 50 meters away from an underground station. There will be more polution at the gym since there is a road right behind the wall.

I have also been to Kaewsamrit which is also located in the outskirts of Bangkok but still in a city-like environment. The gym got more busy in the past years though and opinions about the quality differ these days. Their website: http://www.kaewsamritgym.com/

The English skills of the staff here are very low though (left, right, punch, kick, and thats about it).

Hope this helps, let me know if you need more information.

Agree with Bob about Jittigym I have trained there also and is very good gym with some top fighters training there. I would recommend going to http://www.sitsongpeenong.com/home.html this is on the outskirts and has well known fighter Kem who fights out of there. The camp is limited to how many students they take in so more attention will be given to each student. I know two of the teachers there and both are very good and take good care of the students, like most good gyms do.

Good luck and enjoy
