Rambo
Just 9 days into 2012 and the problem of Mains Water Supply, or rather lack of it, worsens. There has been no mains supply for the last 6 days into parts of Patong. Why is this happening ? Why is nothing done to resolve the issue ? Who is responsible ? Does the Governor know about it ? Is there a hotline contact available to raise the issue with the Governor or someone with authority to take action ? Phuket in general, and Patong in particular continues to build property at an inexorable rate. But the infrastructure cannot keep pace. If Mains water cannot be supplied now, what will supply situation be in 5 years time ??.
LivinginKata
Same last January 2010, and 2009, etc. Patong is busy with tourists and all the guesthouses take water, not enough water to go round. We ran out 29 Dec on Nanai, wife called water company to ask why no water, they said nothing wrong with the system but would send an 'engineer' round to check. Miraculously water for 5 days, then none again. So many promises to improve supply ability, but as soon as the rain arrives in April then everyone forgets until into the dry season. KarenBravo
Are your properties elevated? They lower the pressure during high season to conserve water. If you're up a hill, it's too low to get water to you.

Yes, we usually only get water pressure for at most a couple of hours each day in the wee small hours, I assume they turn up the pressure for a short time. Couple of hours a day we can live with as we have storage tanks. Folks further up the hill get nothing. That's why the wife called the water company to check if they had changed the pumping routine. This water pressure issue has been an ongoing problem in Patong for many years. 4 or 5 years ago they promised an improved pressure delivery. We are still waiting. The joke here is that we all paid a lot of money to have public water pipes installed up our road, and they can't even deliver the water.
KarenBravo
Probably not changing the water pressure, it's just that other users further down the hill are not using water at that time, so, the water can get to you.
petercallen
Its about time they got on with building the new dam they have been talking about for years I think they are actually building it now at long last That and some extra main water pipes should fix the problem The desalination plant they built certainly didn't
